- Acquisition notes
- Af1940,11.1 to 28 is a collection given by Mrs Louisa Pigott (qv). She was a CMS missionary who went to Kenya in 1892 and married J R W Pigott (1850-1928), a senior administrator in British East Africa, in Mombasa in 1893. He first went to Kenya in late 1888, and was posted to Palermo in 1896. The formation of their collection can therefore be dated between 1889 and 1896.
