- Description
-
Indigo wrapper, formed from European white calico cut into ten strips. Five of the strips have been dyed a uniform dark indigo; the other five have been folded into half, and then rope-tied, leaving only the ends free. After being dyed in indigo and unstitched, the cloth was reassembled and resewn by machine with the two types of strip alternating, giving a pattern of light blue strips set against dark blue.
