This is presumably:
Camel saddle. As made round Agadez south of the mountains of Air, French West Africa. These saddles are even used by the [?Arabs] of the Northern Sahara and they are very proud of them in that district. The Tuaregs of the Central Sahara have developed a better saddle than this, simpler in design, but better shaped, very light and very strong, for true camel 'craft'..
