Cloth, woven entirely from raffia of two shades of brown, one dyed darker than the other. The brown is used in both warp and weft, and in the form of wider stripes creates a pattern along the sides and ends which frame the central area.

- Af1928,0711.9 to 23 is a group of raffia and cotton cloths. The register records that they were all 'bought in the market at Lagos, acquired in 1889-94'. The date is certain as Sir Robert Johnstone was only in Africa in those years.
