- Given by Francis Rodd, and described in the register as "Carnelian amulet worn round the neck by Tuareg men or women; obtained at Air, central Sahara. Not made locally but imported from the north. Native name at Air 'Talhakim'. See the book written by the donor, F R Rodd, 'People of the Veil', p.282. Glass imitations were made in Austria before 1914."
