- Af1907,0521.1 to 108 were given by colonial administrator A C Hollis (see his biography), and some were used as illustrations for his monograph on ‘The Nandi: their language and folklore’ published two years later in 1909. The line illustrations were made from drawings; the photographs were supplied to him by the British Museum, and the Trustees are thanked in the preface (p.v). Pp.13-100 of this book are devoted to the Nandi way of life, and this serves as commentary on many of the objects he had collected.
The register records his notes on the individual items, and their names in the Nandi language.
