Stool carved from wood, the seat supported by a standing male figure with arms raised; the seat, hair and legs of the figure coloured black; the arms, face and body coloured red.

- Curator's comments
- The register states that the pair of stools given by Dr Beadnell came from "Bagamayo, German East Africa", a coastal town adjacent to Zanzibar. It was later annotated by W B Fagg with "Baluba?", ie. that they may have come there from the Congo.
