- According to the accession slip, this is a ‘Knobkerry of brown wood. a few iron nails driven into the head’. A label attached to the shaft reads ‘SOUTH AFRICA NATAL GIVEN BY F.E. FOXON 98.12.*‘.
On 12 October 1898, F.E. Foxon Esq. J.P. gave eight objects from Natal to the British Museum (accession numbers Af1898,1012.1 - Af1898,1012.8).
