- The Christy slip records that this came from Uganda; the provenance from Captain Raikes and Captain Hatch is in the Christy register. Both officers must have been involved in the June 1895 Mazrui war, and this head-ring was presumably acquired then, and passed from Hatch to Raikes, and was part of the collection that Franks acquired from the latter earlier in 1895 (see Af1895,-.1190 to 1208).
