- Af1889,0304.1 to 23 were given by [Sir] Harry Johnston in 1889. The objects were all collected in Nigeria in 1886-7, when he was consul in the Cross River and Cameroon district. Nos.1 to 18 are all recorded as from the Upper Cross River (though some had been traded there from elsewhere); nos.19 to 21 are recorded from Calabar; and nos.22 and 23 from Benin.
