Basket made of coiled vegetable fibre; oval, decorated with a band around the rim of pinkish and dark brown vegetable fibre, with diamond motifs in dark and pinkish brown fibre forming a band of triangluar motifs around the body of the basket.

- 1843,0507.291 to 1039 is a collection of antiquities from Egypt and neighbouring countries purchased from the Earl of Belmore, who had collected them when he travelled up the Nile as far as the second cataract in 1816-18. Within it there were 21 modern pieces, most of which are now considered to be from Ethiopia.
