- Slip records this as an "Ifa sword from Lagos". To this W B Fagg added in 1951: "From Owo, north of Benin - duplicate in the Cockin collection, called uda-iva".

- Af,+.881 to Af,+.963.a were given to the BM by A W Franks on 1 October 1878. This is a single collection that he had acquired from Mrs Elizabeth Dumaresq, which had been formed by her late husband John Dumaresq, while he was the Administrator of Lagos between 1874 and 1878.
