- Curator's comments
- Slip reads "East Central Africa". A later annotation by Margret Carey reads "Acholi?". The type is similar to stools of the Bari / Dor/ Bongo of the South Sudan.

- Purchased from William Wareham on 10.iv.1867, as ex-Casolani collection. Af.3911 to 3936 all have the same provenance, and all the slips record it as "Central Africa. East". At this time this refers to the South Sudan, which Bishop Casolani visited in 1847-8 on his mission as Apostolic Vicar of Central Africa and where he made his collection.
