- Acquisition notes
- Af,+.1431 to 1461 were given to the British Museum on 2 January 1880 by A W Franks, who had acquired them from Lieutenant Braine. The first three items are weapons recorded as "from the field of Uluandi' (the battle in the Zulu war took place in July 1879). The other items are domestic objects used by the Zulu and Gcaleka which Lieut. Braine must have collected; their wide range shows his interest in the local cultures.
