Sculpture, memorial pole (larrakitj) made from a Eucalyptus tree trunk, painted with a white slip made of clay and glue. Designs painted in black, white, red and orange ochre.
- Production date
- February 2014
Height: 250 centimetres
- Curator's comments
- The painted designs refer to Bamurrunu, a sacred and solitary rock in Trial Bay, and include small fish, Marparrarr. The fish are manifestations of Marrakulu people, surrounding the rock as in a dance, and in the process of changing dimensions in the face of mortality, as represented by the rock.
