- Although donor suggests the didjeridu is from the Kimberley region, it is more likely to be from north east Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

- Robert Dear acquired this didjeridu in the 1950s. According to the donor, he was gifted it from the songman of the Pentecost River Aborigines, in the Kimberleys, Western Australia before coming to the UK.
Mr Dear gifted it to Dr Colin Harrison before he went back to Australia as part of the Natural History Museum, Western Australia expedition in 1964.
