Description
Three central figures surrounded by sea and land animals. The figures are known as the 'Zugubal' (ancestral spirits), who inhabit the three elements of the natural world. Here the Daparau Zugub (Sky Zugub) is shown transforming into a Ngagalaig (Eagle), the Lagau Zugub (Land Zugub) into a Umai (Dog), and the Malu Zugub (Sea Zugub) into a Koedal (Crocodile).
