Undyed starch resist-dyed adire cloth. Made of natural-coloured cotton cloth, in two pieces, machine sewn together centrally across width. Four horizontal repeating pattern bands hand-stencilled onto cloth comprising floral motifs and text. Cloth is machine hemmed at both ends.

- Good. Some indigo dye transfer in places on front and back of cloth.

- Acquisition notes
- Purchased by the donor while living in Nigeria from 1970-1973. During this time Mr Barnes and his wife travelled across Nigeria collecting various artefacts, including dyed and undyed adire cloth and garments. The donor also photographed artisans in situ.
