- This t-shirt was gifted to the British Museum by Wukun Wanambi and Ishmael Marika on behalf of the Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Centre on 18th November 2013.
Wanambi and Marika visited the Australian collection as part of the Creative Fellowship programme which was funded by the Engaging Objects Research Project.
Ishmael has said that the word mulka means “keeping something safe”.
'Buku' translates as 'the feeling on your face as it is struck by the first rays of the sun' - the name of the arts centre.
