Standing male figure made of wood, surface stained black. Arms bent at elbow, right proper hand pierced. Wears cotton loincloth wrapped around waist; composed of narrow strip with green, red, yellow, black and blue stripes.

- Previously part of the London School of Economics (LSE) ethnography collection, brought in to the British Museum on deposit in 2001. Formally donated in October 2013 by the LSE. This collection is associated with other collections from Oceania (2013,2038.1-80) and the Americas ((2013,2037.1-3) that were acquired from the same source.
It is understood that some of the objects in this wider collection were acquired by Raymond Firth and Bronislaw Malinowski in the early 20th century and some by Hugh Cuming in the early 19th century.
