- Curator's comments
- "At first glance this is a 'jungle maze' mola - where human figure and animals intertwine in such a way that it's often difficult to differentiate between the plant and the animal. But I believe that this is in fact a 'Saint Francis' mola, showing the legendary animal-loving saint in a classic pose where he is feeding animals. Note the use of chevron-shaped 'tas tas' filler elements as opposed to the much more common vertical slit motif." - from notes accompanying mola by Tom Hannaher, who enabled the purchase of the collection.
