Bag made of synthetic wool with one handle. Square bag with vertical lines of purple, white, green wool which end in tassles at the rim of the bag. Brown wool is used to detail diamond designs on both sides of the bag. The handle is made of brown, red and green wool.

This is a contemporary version of a traditional banana fibre bag from Grasciosa Bay, Ndende Island, Santa Cruz Islands, see 2009,2031.2. It was made on a back strap loom.

- This piece was commissioned by Liz Bonshek in November 2009, Research Fellow on the Melanesia Project (2005-2010). This fieldwork trip was carried out as part of the project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, a collaboration between the British Museum and the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge.
