Small handbag made from recycled plastic drinking water bags. Machine-sewn with cotton thread. Rectangular bag with single central compartment and fold-over flap secured with strip of velcro. Short wide handle. Clear plastic water bags printed with text and images in blue ink.

- Curator's comments
- Printed plastic bags containing drinking water are sold throughout Ghana. However, the disposal of the empty bags has caused environmental concerns and discarded bags often block water systems and drainage pipes. Recent initiatives include the recycling of these bags by craftspeople who have created purses, handbags and hats from them for sale through commercial outlets.
