Slide (colour); view of the Geru house on Kombulno ceremonial ground, six months after the climax to the Pig Festival held there. Following a Wahgi Pig Festival, the ceremonial ground - on which thousands of spectators had gathered to watch the dancers perform and hundreds of pigs killed – is ditched and planted with sweet potato, sugar cane, banana trees and taro. Photograph taken mid-1981, Wahgi Valley, Papua New Guinea.
