Slide (colour); one of a sequence of photographs illustrating the process of a Wahgi man (Kinden Kulam) decorating to dance in the Pig Festival. Here Kinden inserts his rear covering of cordyline leaves under his bark belt. Suspended directly behind him are the black bird of paradise plumes he will shortly add to his headdress. Photograph taken January 10th 1980, Topkalap, Wahgi Valley, Papua New Guinea.
