Slide (colour); three men of Komblo tribe’s Kulka clan consume pork atop their Bolyim cult house at the peak of their Pig Festival. Nimbil (left) holds a side (erka) of pork; Alu (centre) wears dark glasses while the man on the right wears in his headdress a painted Geru board. Other clanspeople and guests stand on platforms erected around the ceremonial ground. Photograph taken January 12th 1980 at Bunumul, Kulka clan’s ceremonial grounds, Wahgi Valley, Papua New Guinea.
