- Curator's comments
- It is believed that the images in Oc,B126 have all been collected by an as yet unidentified individual who photographed some of the images/view him or herself. The collection depicts scenes in Fiji and Tonga during the mid 20th Century (around the 1950's), where he or she was either visiting or working. Images photographed in Tonga, in 1951, depict the preparations and the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Treaty between Great Britain and Tonga.
Inscriptions on some of the images note that the individual was an artist or had a passion for drawing. Furthermore, several of the images have unidentified initials inscribed on the back.
