Slide (colour); a scene from the comic Greek shadow puppet play 'Karagiosis the wedding', with the puppeteer Vangos visible in the foreground using rods to manoeuvre the shadow puppets; the character Karagiosis is visible on the right, standing outside of his hut, greeting his bride, Veziropoula, the Pasha's daughter, who is riding an elephant; Karagiosis lowers his top hat towards his bride, and is designed wearing a green jacket and green pair of trousers with red patches covering torn areas; the bride is wearing a turban, draped clothing and jewellery; Athens, Greece.
