In front of Am,A34, a content page was found assigned the BM number: Am,A34.1 (now in the PicDoc) with a list of Jackson Catalogue numbers associated with the photographic portraits located in Am,A34 as well as amendments handwritten in ink (transcribed in brackets below).
The page reads:

Published in: Fleming, Paula (2003) “Native American photography at the Smithsonian : the Shindler catalogue” , no.266, with Amended Information "The individuals have not been identified. A copy of this carte de visite is in the papers of Matilda COxe Stenvenson, NAA Ms. 4689. There it is identified as having been taken in the spring of 1957 at Fort Bridger, Utah [Territory]. Stevenson says this was recieved from a Mr Parleer at Fort Bridger on September 29, 1868. No other evidence has been located to support 1857 date for this or related images collected by Blackmore in Salat Lake City. By either Charles William Carter or [Charles Roscoe] Savage & [George Martin] Ottinger, all of whom had studios in Salt Lake City".
