The card indicates that the Smithsonian negative number is 1936 and the following information: Blackmore colln no.1644 Photographer: By Orloff Westman Sept 30 1871 Jackson cat. 616; Related information: Colin Taylor notes in his paper, 'William Blackmore: A 19th Century Englishman's Contribution to American Ethnology' that Orloff Westman photographed Native North Americans at Taos, Mexico in September 1971, during the Annual San Geromino Fiesta, at the request of William Blackmore.
