- Cataloguer's comment: The consulate at Bonny depicted in the central photograph can be seen in Af,A46/81 and Af,A48.88.
Prior to being stored in albums Af,A48, Af,A49 and Af,A50, the loose photographs and postcards donated by Lady Menendez were kept in boxes and envelopes.

Biography: Green was a Nigerian photographer working in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. An archive of his negatives have been found in Port Harcourt. N F Barley, 04/06/1996.

This image takes the form of a holiday greeting card and incorporates a number of Green's architectural photographs. Manuel Raymond Menendez, the chief justice of the Protecorate owned a number of copies and may have contributed to the selection of imagery. (Anderson & Aronson, 2017)
