- The letter from Mrs Trimbush in the Montague Guest papers is addresed to an unnamed recipient and reads:
'Terrington Rectory, York
Nov 12 1898
Madam
I have Mr Gladstone's pass to the Great Exhibition & should like to dispose of it.
It is a round of ivory or bone about the size of half-a-crown, enclosed in what looks like an olive wood box - it has on one side
No.9 / Exhibition Pass to Works / of 1851
& on the other
Not / Transferable / Rt Honble W E. / Gladsotne, M. P.
It was given to my father, the late Revd James Harris, from a Christmas Tree at Hawarden Castle either in 1851 or 1852.
I have also an old play-bill, dated April, 1785.
If you are disposed to purchase either of these will you please let me know a probable price.
Yours truly
(Mrs) Mary E. Trimbush'
