A female figure, Montreal, seated mournfully at the foot of a pine-tree; before her is a trophy composed of a French shield and Indian arms; behind her is an eagle perched upon a rock. (obverse)

The River St. Lawrence, laureate, reclining, right, leans upon the prow of a ship, and holds a paddle or rudder; a beaver walks over his legs; near him is erected a standard having the name Amherst of within a laurel wreath, and surmounted by a Lion. Exergue: Captured French and Indian arms. (reverse)

- Medallic Illustrations 2, published in 1885, states:
Rare.
By the capture of Montreal by General Amherst, 8 September 1760, the conquest of Canada was completed, and the whole territory was evacuated by the French in the autumn of the same year. The pine-tree and the eagle are symbolical of the country. The beaver indicates the River St. Lawrence, and the British standard erected on the banks shows in whose possession the country then was.
