- Brown 1980 states:
Henry Quinn practised in Dublin and is noted for his production of gems in coloured glass paste. There is a specimen of this medal in gold with an engraved reverse inscription 'EX / ANIMO GRATO / OB / SANITATEM / RESTITVTAM / EXCUDI CURAVIT / R . W . WADE / MDCCLXXXVIII.' Others in silver and silver gilt have varying inscriptions. The specimen in gold was commissioned by Robert Watson Wade and presented to Dr Quinn as a token of gratitude for his curing Wade from "A violent impostume in his side". Frazer notes that this piece was then in the possession of Quinn's grandson, the Rev. R. Quinn, Rector of Forkhill. Quinn presented copies of this medal to his friends, one of which is inscribed 'Sacred to the man who after finding out the author in obscurity, led him into the profession of this polite art and became his patron, his friend, and his liberal benefactor.'
