Composition of medal:
93.7% Cu, 2.3% Zn, 1.4% Sn, 2.5% Pb. Traces of Sb and Ni.
An aftercast from a pierced example. Judging both by the composition of the alloy and appearance this cast is likely to be from the same source as registration no. G3,FrM.20.
The medal is not signed and it is not clear whether it derives from a piece by Dupré or a medal imitating registration no. G3,IP.882. The extent to which this differs from the other medal of Richelieu and the sophistication of the modelling on the reverse seem to point to Dupré. It is, however, odd that the piece lacks both a signature and the diamond shaped stops characteristic of Dupré's work.
