Not rare.
Dr. Samuel Clarke, divine, mathematician, and philosopher, was born at Norwich 11 October 1675, and died 17 May, 1729. With powerful talents and a clear understanding, he chose to ground his opinions upon the result of his own researches, and, entering deeply into the study of religion and natural philosophy, to proceed fearlessly in the path in which, he thought, the Truth called him to walk.
