- Medallic Illustrations 1, published in 1885, states:
This medal is similar to registration no. G3,F.D.62, but differing in some of its details; for instance, there are many more men on the sinking galley in the foreground: and below, the artist's name. On the reverse is the same inscription as the last, but rather more contracted, and enclosed in a wider border of vines and grapes. No artist's name.
