- Curator's comments
- Medallic Illustrations 2, published in 1885, states:
This was the dedicatory medal of the series of medals of English Sovereigns by Jean Dassier, a native of Geneva. They were published by subscription at six guineas the set of thirty-three medals in copper, and at fifteen guineas in silver. They are tolerably well executed, but the portraits bear but little resemblance to the originals. Further particulars of these medals are given in Medallic Illustrations 1 p1.
