- Prop banknote specially produced by the Doctor Who Art Department for the 2006 Christmas Special episode ‘The Runaway Bride.’ A scene in the script by writer Russell T Davies required the Doctor to cause a distraction by making a cash dispenser shoot banknotes into the air. A crowd gathers to catch the billowing money, allowing the Doctor and companion Donna Noble to escape the approaching alien menace. Fake banknotes for TV and film must conform to strict Bank of England guidelines, so the Doctor Who production team elected to create their own Doctor Who notes. The notes themselves were designed by concept artist Peter McKinstry. The “£20” depicts Phil Collinson who was the series Producer from 2005-2008 as well as the name “London Credit Bank,” a bank created for the TV series. The “£20” note features a quote from ‘Robot,’ Tom Baker’s debut serial as the Fourth Doctor in 1974. It also features an imitation hologram which depicts the TARDIS, the Doctor’s time and space machine disguised as a Police Box.
