- The slogan 'where's the beef?' was used by Walter Mondale against Gary Hart attacking his supposed lack of hard policies. The slogan was originally from a television advert for beefburgers in which three women regard a large tin, two admiringly but the third opens it to reveal a tiny burger 'Where's the beef? Where's the beef?' she shrieks.
