Description
Banknote (reproduction): Great Ming circulating treasure note, for 1 string of coins, of the Hongwu reign.

Six-character inscription giving name of banknote across the top. Below this is a border containing dragons and foliage. The central box contains the two-character inscription giving the denomination and illustrates a string of coins (in 10 groups of 100 coins). There is also a four-character inscription (in a folded style of writing) at either side. The longer inscription below gives further details and warns against counterfeiting. Two red impressions from square-shaped seals.
