Curator's comments
This coin is among the earliest British coinage, based on the prototype of the Gallo-Belgic Xb 'bullet stater'. The type is found in the area of Dorset and the South coast. Metallurgical analysis RL14379Z: Au 48%, Ag 34%, Cu 18%.
