Rectangular struck bronze medal with arched top. (whole)

A young woman to left, her upper half naked, her lower half covered by drapery, wearing a laurel crown, seated three-quarters to right on a bench, her head facing front, holds up a laurel branch in her right hand and the British and French flags in her left hand, a banderole across the flagpoles inscribed "FRANCAIS EXPOSITION" and on the ground to right, a shield with the coat-of-arms of the French Republic, inscribed "RF" and another with the coat-of-arms of Britain; in the foreground to right two roses with a banderole inscribed "A L'ETRANGER", in the background to left rays of light and to right an aerial view of the exhibition buildings. Britain as a young woman to left, draped and wearing a crown over a veil, seated in profile to right on a low wall at the edge of a wavy sea with seagulls flying above the surface, raises a laurel and an oak branch in her left hand, her right hand holding the hand of France as a young woman to right, draped, her hair loose, wearing the Cap of Liberty and a breastplate with the French cockerel on it, seated among clouds, her lower half turned to right, her upper body to left, her left arm resting on a fasces. - Curator's comments
- In 1904, France and Britain signed the Entente Cordiale. In 1908, a Franco-British exhibition was held in London to promote exchanges between the two countries. The medal was commissioned by the French Committee for Foreign Exhibitions.
