Cast bronze uniface medal. (whole)

Centre, personification of the city of Paris holding a flag decorated with fleurs de lis and cockerel surmounted by the cap of liberty, and a shield bearing the coat of arms of the city of Paris: in the background, right, the Bastille in a stage of demolition and left an encampment of tents; Paris is seen to be sitting amidst the trophies of battle, including weapons, flags, a cannon, ammunition and barrels, and to the left a fasces lying on the ground: above, the sun's rays shine across the scene; below the exergue, broken chains.
