A naked young woman, standing in profile to left, thin drapery over her right tiogh, her lower leg resting on a a pile of large stones, leans against the trunk and branch of a tree as she observes a nest with two chicks in it; a cartouche below, and a double line border. (obverse)

A young child, naked, seated in profile to left on the branch of a tree, holds out a stick towards the open beak of a small bird perched on his finger, possibly feeding it; double line border. (reverse)

- Curator's comments
- Maier dates the medal 1899, and states that Daniel-Dupuis initially modelled it in 1890 as a uniface cast plaquette, and that the reverse was designed later.
The date in the Catalogue Général is 1900.
