Britannia with a small incuse coil of hair on the top of her head, seated to left on a globe, her left leg covered. In her right hand she holds a spray of leaves which does not intrude into the legend; her raised left hand grasps a long spear with a ball below its blade. By her left hand is an ornamented oval shield, with curved raised lines on the scroll at its base, bearing the combined crosses of St. George and St. Andrew. Double exergue line (consisting of a thick line above a thinner and slightly shorter line and both lines extending to the border on each side) with the date below it. The legend inscription at the sides and top is interupted at the top by the head of Britannia and her spear. All within a broad, outer toothed border just inside the outer rim.
