Description
Copper alloy coin on a large flan with plain edge.
(whole)
Bust of George I facing to the right, laureated and cuirassed with the right shoulder strap ornamented with scales with the left shoulder strap and armour across the breast being plain. Wreath with eight leaves (in pairs) and three berries, tied behind the neck with a riband showing one loop and one loose end with less hair to the right of the tie-knot. Legend inscription at sides and top. All within a raised linear circle and a broad, outer toothed border just inside the outer rim.
Britannia in closely fitting drapery, seated to left on a globe, her left leg covered. In her right hand she holds a spray of leaves, which does not intrude into the legend; her raised left hand grasps a long spear. By her left hand is an ornamented oval shield bearing the combined crosses of St. George and St. Andrew. Double exergue line (consisting of a thin line below a thicker and slightly longer line) with the date below it. The legend inscription at sides and top is interupted at the top by the head of Britannia and her spear. All within a raised linear circle and a broad, outer toothed border just inside the outer rim.
