Curator's comments
Agrippina's dominant influence is shown by the fact that her portrait shares the obverse with the emperor (her son) and her title alone appears on the obverse. The formula EX S C on this and subsequent early issues is evidence for the extension of senatorial prerogative to the precious metal coinage.
