Bust of Sasanian king right, wearing crenellated crown with wings, crescent and star. Star (without crescent) left and right of crown. Short beard, moustache; diadem behind shoulder. Two rings, crescent and symbols. Breast ornament four pellets (often top pellet obscured as melded in line below). In field right, name of governor in Kufic Arabic, Hani with ' below probably denoting 'dl for justice. Outer margin, at 5 o'clock 'pd (abd, excellent). In third quarter margin nywk' (nēk, good). Legend left of crown GDH 'pzwt (xvarrah abzūd), may his splendour grow. (obverse)
