Dish with phoenixes
This white porcelain saucer-dish has an anhua (hidden or secret) design of two phoenixes in the inner walls and a seal script character mark 永樂年製 (Yongle nian zhi 'made in the Yongle reign') framed by a double circle. The dish is an imitation of a Yongle white dish made more than 250 years later in the Kangxi reign (AD 1662–1722). The porcelain is slightly grainy which distinguishes it from the originals.
